Terms and Conditions

• For the safety of the staff and your dog Archie’s requires that you disclose when booking if your dog exhibits any difficult or aggressive behaviour. Archie’s reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that displays aggressive behaviour.

• No liability will be accepted by Archie’s Dog Grooming in injury caused by difficult or aggressive behaviour by your pet.

• Archie’s Dog Grooming cannot be held responsible for the standard of grooming or mishaps that may occur while grooming dogs with behavioural problems.

• No liability will be accepted by Archie’s Dog Grooming when any health problem is uncovered or aggravated, by any part of the grooming process.

• If your dog requires urgent medical attention whilst in our care, Archie’s Dog Grooming reserve the right to seek veterinary attention, any fees incurred will be payable by the owner of the dog. The owner must ensure they are always contactable by phone.

• At Archie’s Dog Grooming’s sole discretion, the business may offer or agree to compensate towards an accidental injury during the grooming process. The owner will need to provide a full veterinary report detailing the consultation, appointment dates, medical treatment applied, and a breakdown of costs involved in relation to the incident only. Failure or refusal to provide the information required, will result in an immediate withdrawal of this offer.

• Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming; sometimes dogs may move quickly during grooming, when working with sharp scissors and clippers, there is always a possibility that injury can occur even if every effort is made to ensure this does not happen. Any known injuries will be reported to the owner.

• If you fail to disclose information regarding any allergies or skin conditions or regarding any physical and/or medical conditions, Archie’s Dog Grooming will not be held responsible for any irritation, patchiness in the coat, abrasions or hair loss or any injury incurred during the grooming process as a result of the physical and/or medical conditions.

• An additional cost will be incurred for any dogs that require de-matting or removing a matted coat, if a dog’s coat is severely matted Archie’s Dog Grooming will only attempt to de-matt the coat for a maximum of 20 minutes in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Archie’s reserve the right to perform a complete clip off of the dog’s coat if the matting is severe enough for the wellbeing of the dog. If, however, we deem the dog too severely matted to safely carry out a complete clip off Archie’s reserve the right to refuse the groom. This is also a time-consuming and high-risk process which incurs additional costs through time spent and dulling of equipment. Any additional products used in de-matting will be charged for.

• Our prices are based on the time taken to groom a well-behaved dog that is groomed regularly and with their coat in good condition.

• Whilst dogs are in our care, its health, safety, and welfare are our primary concern.

• Dogs will only be groomed according to their tolerance of the process. If dogs begin to display signs that they are uncomfortable or show an unacceptable level of stress, an alternative method will be employed or further grooming sessions will be advised to complete a groom or grooming procedure.

• If a dog is found to have fleas during the grooming process, the owner will be contacted and must collect their dog immediately, full payment of the groom will be payable by the owner and additional costs will be incurred as we must also fumigate the salon to prevent fleas from settling or spreading.

• We do not pluck ears for dogs and clip the hairs shorter instead.

• We do not express anal glands

• All clients must fill out, sign and date a customer record form and agree to the disclaimer.

• Please make sure all dogs are well walked and given ample opportunity to toilet before coming to their pet grooming appointment.

• Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment, arriving late may incur a late fee. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in the appointment being cancelled and a full charge being taken. Owner must ensure they are always contactable by phone.

• Please note that any bookings will require a deposit. This deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is also non-transferable unless we are notified 48 hours or more prior to the time and date of the appointment.

• Deposits will be taken in person and can be rolled over from one appointment to the next.

Data Protection

At Archie’s Dog Grooming we do require some personal information from the owner, such as, owner’s name, owner’s address and contact information, the dog’s name, and description. We also require the dog’s veterinary practice details and medical conditions.

We do take privacy of this data seriously and will only use the information supplied in the below circumstances:

• In the event of a medical emergency where veterinary attention is required for your pet.

• To contact owner for appointment booking, reminding, or rescheduling, or if we need to contact owner during their dog’s groom.

• To contact owner and notify them of any appointment availability which has become available at short notice.

• To contact owner and notify them of upcoming busy periods where pre-booking would be advantageous to secure their desired appointment slot

We take complimentary post grooming photographs of dogs at our discretion. Photographs and videos of dogs will be posted to our social media sites and website. Should the owner not wish for their dog’s photo to be taken, there is an opt out feature on the Customer record form.

The owner and dog’s information will be stored in line with the Data Protection guidelines. Individual Customer record forms will be kept in a locked cupboard at the grooming salon address. Information transferred from the customer record form onto a PC which is password protected. Photographs and videos are taken with a mobile phone which is password protected.
